Designing that has to take time

Passion, patience and time. And, a fine clay.

Thoose are the ingredients to create an item that lasts. The opposite of wear and tear. All items made by STURM Ceramics are unique, created by our hands, a potter's wheel and a kiln. Our ceramics are made of the warm sand-colored Swedish stoneware clay "Fyleleran", taken from Fyldedalen in Skåne. There, the iron-natural clay has been around for 200 million years. Then we kneaded, threw, trimmed, burned, glazed and burned the clay again.

The process of making a lamp - from the moment we put the clay on the potter's wheel until the light is lit, takes about a month at STURM Ceramics. But the designing may take time. Then it becomes something special.

That is formgiving for us.
